# How do I Add or Remove Samples in an Existing Order?

## This article describes how to add or remove samples from an existing order

1. **Find the Order** you want to edit
2. Make sure the Order is in the **Placed** or **In Progress** stage. If the Order is in Completed stage, you cannot edit the Order. If you need to make any changes, you must return the Order to the In Progress stage.
3. Click the **Edit Order** box
4. ![editorder2](https://help.confidentlims.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Migration/editorder2.webp?width=510&height=310&name=editorder2.webp)To add a Sample to the Order, select the **Add Sample** icon in the **Edit Order** screen and fill out all of the Sample information. Select **Add and Close.**
5. To remove a Sample, find the Sample that you would like to remove and select the **Edit** icon.![editsample2](https://help.confidentlims.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Migration/editsample2.webp?width=146&height=151&name=editsample2.webp)
6. To remove the Sample from an Order, select the **Delete** button in the **Edit Sample** screen
