# How do I Edit a Sample's Matrix Category or Type in an Existing Order?

## Once an order is placed, edits can be made until the order is completed.

1. **Find the Order** you want to edit
2. Make sure the Order is in the **Placed** or **In Progress** stage. If the Order is in Completed stage, you cannot edit a Sample's matrix category or type. If you need to make this change, you must return the Order to the In Progress stage
3. Click the **Edit Order** box

4. Find the Sample that you would like to edit and select the **Edit** icon

5. Follow the steps to edit the Sample and Order
